Intuit – QuickBooks' parent company and an international leader in small business software – saw an opportunity to boost sales by reaching out to existing customers and suggesting complimentary products that would address their specific needs.

A personalized URL (PURL) was sent to target customers in a greeting card, and directed them to a whimsical web based world of woodland creatures. After answering a few quick questions, recipients were encouraged to design an animal avatar of their own. The results – both answers and artwork – were combined with CRM data to create custom sales materials for use in a direct mail and email campaign.
