4 new web projects launching soon
For the better part of 2012 COPIOUS headquarters have felt a bit like a pressure cooker of creativity and technology — as the two meld together to create impactful digital experiences for our clients.
The deadlines have been tight, the orders tall, and the caffeine plentiful. And for all the hard work our team has put in, we have a fresh batch of really exceptional new work to show for it.

Razer – Branded Ecommerce Website
Following our redesign of their desktop software, Razer gaming products enlisted us to complete a visual brand experience overhaul of their brand’s product information/launch, ecommerce and customer service websites.
The new site reflects the beauty and precision of their physical products, while increasing conversion by creating a cohesive experience across platforms.
A lot of our work was behind the scenes. We conducted a technology/systems audit, which influenced recommendations for architecture and platform longevity, and better integration of the systems that make up the Razer digital customer experience.
NW Natural – Equipment Comparison Tool
Lots of people want to save energy. Even more want to save money. But very few want to use a energy savings calculator (think 1999 web form) that requires crawling behind their furnace to check the model number.
For long-time client NW Natural, we set out to build an energy cost calculator that is so fast and simple, you can complete the process from anywhere. Commercial break? Waiting for the bus? Done and done.
The experience is built around data sets users would know off the top of their heads — like the approximate build date of their home, and how many people live there. Cheerful illustrations and light, airy design make using the calculator a breeze. The web app was designed and developed to be responsive (works from desktop, tablet and mobile seamlessly) with Node.js (fast app like experience) and hosted in the cloud.
The app launches in a few weeks — stay tuned.
BACtrack – Branded Ecommerce Website
Just in time for the holidays, we gave BACtrack breathalyzers a new online look. Much like Razer, BACtrack is a leader in their industry — but you wouldn't have known it by their web presence. A complete rearchitecture of their site created the structure they needed to demonstrate thought leadership, and showcase the impressive press they've earned from celebrities like Dr. Phil and The Doctors.
With a strong framework in place, we lead a total visual brand overhaul. Updated visual digital design, custom photography, content design, and a new brand color palette all helped elevate their brand to reflect the quality of their products. Behind the scenes, we took them from 3 disparate systems to one unified CMS & Ecommerce platform.
Rejuvenation – Custom Ecommerce / Technical Review
Rejuvenation is America’s largest manufacturer of authentic reproduction lighting and house parts. You may recall they made headlines last year when the Portland-founded company became part of William-Sonoma. This year, more big things are in store, as they expand and improve their ecommerce offering.
As usual, we began the project by working closely with internal IS and Ecommerce teams to understand current issues, and short and long-term goals. (Since our offices sit on adjoining blocks, collaboration was like a walk in the park. If a park is the inner SE.)
The technical improvements we’ve made to their custom Ruby on Rails site have doubled site speed, and increased overall application performance threefold. The site also has four times the capacity to handle large traffic spikes — a capability we’re certain will get much use in the coming months.
What’s next?
As the agency adage goes, it always seems like our most exciting work is the stuff we can’t talk about yet. In the coming weeks we’re set to: of:
- kick off development a responsive web app and a new native iPhone and Android app
- launch four responsive websites (including one for ourselves!)
- launch native apps for Android and iPhone
- wrap an interactive social campaign
- produce two web videos
...and kick off another round of projects. Just doing our part to make sure 2012 goes out with a bang.
